Why is your Class Different?"I've been in their shoes (the folks that take my classes): I've maintained swimming pools at Hotels, apartment complexes, and student housing facilities. I've owned and operated a pool service company in the Southeast and have also spent a bit of time in both retail pool supplies and swimming pool equipment manufacturing. I think the fact I have gotten my hands dirty at pool side day in and day out in the rain, cold and heat makes it easier for us to relate to one another - which makes for a more rewarding class for all of us (me included)."
What should someone taking your class expect?"We conduct as much training at pool side as we possibly can, so its not all classroom and powerpoint with us - I think that people learn better that way. Even in the classroom sections we'll conduct a few pool related chemistry experiments instead of just talking about it. I think it's easier to learn when you integrate hands on opportunities and also make the class fun & interesting . Really, I try to be the teacher I always wished I could have had - I think the folks that attend my class deserve that; somebody that gives everything they got."
Why teach the CPO Class? "Honestly, I love what I do. I've always been certified myself and have always saw the value in the education behind the certification. The CPO Class, itself, focuses on the health & safety of swimming pools - something I deeply believe in. Teaching this class enables me to connect with people and through education, give back to an industry that I thoroughly enjoy being a part of."
